Our Houston Music School Location

Cixi Music Studio is located in the Chinatown neighborhood of Houston near the corner of Sovereign Dr. and Town Park Dr. We are next door to Hua Xia Chinese School, and Collins Elementary School and YES Prep Public School are nearby as well. Many of our students access our studio via W Sam Houston Pkwy and the Westpark Tollway - if we can help you with directions, please let us know!

Founded by a professional musician and educator, Cixi Music Studio values the impact of a qualified, caring teacher. Our piano, guitar, voice, strings, and other instructors have degrees in music, supervised teaching experience, and years spent working with students of all ages and abilities. Furthermore, we stay active on our instruments; your teacher will be a professional-level musician who is active in solo and ensemble music-making.

Teachers at Cixi Music Studio also have your best interests in mind - we don’t expect all of our students to pursue the same goals or a similar career path. You should feel free to tell your teacher what you want to get out of music, and we will cater our teaching accordingly.

Music Lessons for Kids in Houston

We enjoy working with children, and our teaching materials and activities are always age-appropriate. As your child demonstrates particular interest in a style of music or a particular composer, we are always happy to choose repertoire that includes his or her preferences. Our teachers always direct the lessons, of course, but we love to incite a love of music in your children by including music they enjoy.

We use popular teaching methods as well as graded instrumental repertoire to help your child learn, and we also incorporate games and activities “off the bench” to keep our younger students engaged.
